Baby Kiley
Baby Kiley arrived at 10:30 AM on May 25th and weighed 8 lbs, 1 oz and was 20 inches long. Such a beautiful little girl! We were all so excited to meet our little lady, brothers included. Kiley gave us a some difficulties when at the hospital. She had a high billirubin level within her being 24 hrs old and was put on a billi blanket, which is an ultraviolet light in the form of a "blanket" that she lays on. We joked that our baby had a tail since the "blanket" had to be plugged in. Unfortunately the billi blanket wasn't enough to bring down Kiley's levels, so she had to go up to the NICU to go underneath the stronger lights. She also had to get feedings through an NG tube because the high billiruben levels made Kiley very tired and unable to feed routinely. Luckily her levels dropped enough with the stronger lights to allow her to D/C when I did, but we were sent home with a billi blanket to use until her levels dropped even more. Thankfully they dropped enough by the following Tuesday to D/C the billi blanket. Praise God.
